Eurythmy Therapy
Eurythmy therapy is a highly effective exercise therapy with a holistic approach: in addition to the physical symptoms is also considered the situation of vital force, mental situation, motivation, and in particular the way in which the disease did develop. She is one of the pillars of Anthroposophic Medicine, which is in Germany equated by the legislature to the conventional medicine. Eurythmy is a standard treatment in all anthroposophical clinics and sanatoriums, and is offered in therapeutics and practices of established therapists in collaboration with the physician. Eurythmy therapy was developed by Dr. Rudolf Steiner early last century, together with the Eurythmie as an art, and has since been successfully therapeutic applied all over the world.
Disease-
Illness and healing are seen as ways of learning and changes, which occupy the patient in his whole being. So healing requires also the activity of the patient, but with this he has the chance for a new evolution and to heal as a whole.
Eurythmy therapy supports people in their independence, increase their own activity, developing new skills and motivation.
The self-
In addition to the spontaneous effects of the exercisesm which the patient often can directly live to see, is worked during the training sequences in the course of treatment also into the organic processes. This can induce even in serious illnesses to amazing improvement and healing. The therapeutic movements have encouraging effects on the aggrieved or understrength physiological processes in the body. Parallel to this often new psychological skills are developed.
Eurythmy therapy can also be performed sitting or lying. In case of intense weakness, the therapist supports the movements of the patient by manual control.

Anthroposophic Medicine
is recognized by German law as equivalent to the medical school and science as a "special therapeutic direction."
It sees itself as a humanistic extension of the mostly just materialistic orientated scientific medicine.

Anthroposophical medical practitioners have additional to the usual univerity degrees a specific training in Anthroposophic Medicine
The treatment methods, medicines and remedies are mainly part of the German power spectrum of statutory health insurance (§ 2 SGB V).
Of course, also depending on the illness, all other usual and conventional therapies are used.
Eurythmy therapy is an essential pillar of this branch of therapy. It is one of the standard treatments of all anthroposophical clinics and sanatoriums, and in therapeutics and established free clinics offered in collaboration with a doctor. Anthroposophical doctors all have gone through a regular scientific medical university education. The certification for doctor of Anthroposophic Medicine is available for purchase and recognized by the Medical Section of the School for Spiritual Science in Dornach, CH as well as by the associations of the individual countries. Anthroposophic medicine is working with allopathic and homeopathic medicines as well as with rhythmic massage, eurythmy therapy, art therapy, music therapy and speech therapy.

Origin and development of Eurythmy Therapy
With the beginning of the early development of Eurythmie as an art in 1912, the therapeutic potential was intuitive visible and had direct impact on the naming: "Eu" originates from Greek language, meaning beautiful or good, "Rhythm" speaks for itself. Eurythmy is thus usually translated as "beautiful movement" or "good rhythm." In the subsequent years, Rudolf Steiner gave instructions, which disposition can be treated with which kind of exercises. A systematic presentation of eurythmy therapy tock place in 1921 for doctors and therapists. In the years after, the eurythmy therapy proved to be effective in the various medical fields. It has since expanded worldwide and is still developing further by doctors and therapist.
Today are about 2,000 Eurythmy therapists in 35 countries worldwide in various profesional fields active: in hospitals, schools, kindergartens, free clinics, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and in special education facilities.

Main Indications
With few exceptions, almost all diseases, most in accompaniment to medical therapy, can be treated with eurythmy therapy:
Acute, chronic and recurrent diseases, functional disorders, organic disorders and mental disorders, developmental disorders of the child.
Eurythmy therapy is carried out at the doctor's prescription in individual sessions. If there is any disease predisposition visible, prophylactic treatment is possible.
